Next in the series of painting tutorials covering different kinds of my Folk Horrors: the humble Straw Children.

All of my metal and resin kits released by Meridian Miniatures are still currently on preorder through their webshop: MERIDIAN MINIATURES. But if you miss it, don't worry. As always, they will all return again come next Kickstarter.

And in the meantime, if you're hungry for more new folk horror minis right...

As all the others, it comes with a piece of scatter terrain attached. This time it's a fungus-infested chunk of masonry.

The Scientist is not a Raider troop type, but rather a model used in the V. FIRST CONTACT scenario...

I've been collaborating with Smashbash (USA) for years now; sculpting a few kits for them annually, and serving as one of the judges in their online hobby competition. The comp is still going, you can check out past entries HERE while you wait for this year's results. As of late Smashbash has morphed into a full on independent miniature and game publisher - with an outspoken punk attitude. On 21 and 22 February I attended Leaving Asphodel, a Necropolis campaign event and part of the annual Black Queen Hobby and Miniature Painting Competition held by UMS “Agram” in Zagreb. It gathered a dozen players, some local and some from neighbouring countries.

I’ve been aware of Necropolis (formerly known as Necropolis28) for years now. As described by the author Peter Vigors, it’s “a miniatures-agnostic skirmish game about rival...

This past February I attended Leaving Asphodel, a Necropolis event and part of the annual Black Queen Hobby and Miniature Painting Competition held by UMS “Agram” in Zagreb. Just for the occasion I wanted to craft a sick Grillet box to house and transport my Gathering and gaming implements.

My starting Gathering consisted of a single large model: the Vampire Queen (using the Ascended Undead profile in the Necropolis rules). I used my own...
