I've been collaborating with Smashbash (USA) for years now; sculpting a few kits for them annually, and serving as one of the judges in their online hobby competition. The comp is still going, you can check out past entries HERE while you wait for this year's results. As of late Smashbash has morphed into a full on independent miniature and game publisher - with an outspoken punk attitude. I'm happy to report that my involvement with Smashbash has become closer partnership, much like what I have with my UK friends Meridian Miniatures and Ramshackle Games

In 2025 Smashbash released Sun Rot: "a GM led, card flipping, rules light, cooperative TTRPG where you and a friend (or two!) race against time to escape solar death." The core contains a small rulebook and a ton of cards, and is playable with whatever minis and terrain one has around. There is a boardgame version of it now as well, currently up for preorder. That one comes with a board, car terrain and minis, and anything else you need to play it out of the box.

And then there are the minis! I've been hand sculpting through Sun Rot's roster of characters and monsters for months - and as of today finally a big batch of them is available in metal.

The four Sun Rot core player characters were the first to get made and released. They are the Fighter, the Cleric, the Wizard and the Astrologer.

I was given complete freedom regarding monster designs. Sun Rot's card artwork - which was sourced from public domain - informed some of my choices, but I often looked for inspiration much wider. The often abstract names of the creatures were a fun starting point, and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

I'm particularly happy with what I did with Echo Stalker and Echo Parasite (above left and middle). I'm looking forward to seeing people paint this stuff and, of course, giving it a shot myself when I get my hands on them. They come packed in blisters - which I like very much.

I have more to sculpt for Sun Rot, and Smashbash in general. Looking forward to getting many new creatures out there for you to paint, kitbash, and play with!
