Crafting the Forest King’s Dominion
Posted: 03. 06. 2025.
We're half way through the Forest King Kickstarter campaign. Big thanks to everyone who's backed so far! Today I'd like to share how I put together the wild forest environment for the King's glamour shots.
I've been building a collection of scenery elements over the past few years. I add to it for every important occasion, as I don't want the forest to always look the same. This time around I added a few little things, and one large build: an angry tree with a face. Here is how the tree was made:
Now let’s have a look at what else goes into the mix.
Here are the moss and toadstool tutorial links for your convenience:
You may notice if you compare the moss in the photos now with when it was new - in the four years between them the green has gradually faded. I don't mind, this colour is also useful to have. I do want that lovely green again, though - so I think it's time to harvest and preserve a fresh batch.
I'd like to thank my Patreon supporters, as always!
And check out the Kickstarter if you haven't yet. Folk Horrors, Vampire Queen, and other older sets are in there, too.
